Accessibility Statement
Havenridge Care is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disability.
Our commitment
Havenridge Care works to ensure our digital presence reflects the same values we bring to our in-person support — clarity, respect, and genuine inclusion. We are actively working to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, the internationally recognised standard for web accessibility.
We recognise that not every part of our website may currently meet every guideline. We are committed to ongoing improvement and welcome feedback about accessibility barriers you may encounter.
Accessibility features on this website
We have worked to incorporate the following accessibility features across our website:
Readable colour contrast
Text and background combinations are selected to meet minimum contrast ratios for readability.
Resizable text
All text can be enlarged up to 200% using your browser's zoom without loss of content.
Keyboard navigation
Core navigation and interactive elements are accessible via keyboard for users who cannot use a mouse.
Descriptive link text
Links are written to be descriptive and meaningful out of context, supporting screen reader users.
Alt text for images
Images include descriptive alternative text for users relying on screen readers such as NVDA or JAWS.
Plain language content
We write in clear, straightforward language — avoiding jargon — to support people with cognitive or literacy differences.
Mobile responsive design
Our website adapts to all screen sizes and orientations, including smartphones and tablets.
Logical heading structure
Content uses a clear heading hierarchy (H1–H3) to assist screen reader users navigating the page.
Known limitations
We are honest about areas where our website is still being improved. The following known limitations exist and are being actively addressed:
| Area | Limitation | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Downloadable PDFs | Some older PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen reader compatibility. | In progress |
| Video content | Any video content published will include captions and audio descriptions. Currently no videos are published. | Planned |
| Third-party tools | Embedded tools such as booking or newsletter forms are provided by third parties and may have their own accessibility limitations. | Monitored |
| WCAG 2.1 AA full audit | A full independent accessibility audit has not yet been completed. This is planned for the next 12 months. | Planned |
Third-party content: Some content or tools embedded on our website are provided by third parties (e.g. external forms or NDIS.gov.au links). While we select third‑party tools with accessibility in mind, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of all external content. If you encounter an issue with a third‑party tool, please contact us and we will assist you directly.

Ongoing improvements
Accessibility is not a one-time task — it is an ongoing commitment. Havenridge Care is committed to regularly reviewing our website content, ensuring new content meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines, and improving documents and media before publication.
What we are actively doing
Reviewing content, layout and functionality; tagging new PDFs for screen reader compatibility; seeking feedback from participants, families and workers with lived experience of disability.
Our improvement plan includes
Conducting an independent WCAG audit within 12 months; reviewing downloadable documents; adding captions/transcripts for video content; and monitoring third‑party tools for accessible alternatives.
Last reviewed: March 2026. This statement will be reviewed at minimum every 12 months, or sooner if significant changes are made to the website.
